How long to spend

A future visit should include time to reach the lower station, arrange payment or check an İzmirim Kart balance, board, complete the outward journey, spend time at the upper facilities, and return by cable car. Teleferik has been out of service since 21 July 2026, when temporary maintenance and renewal works began. There are therefore no dependable opening hours for a current visit. This is an operational closure rather than a seasonal schedule, so historic hours cannot safely be used to plan the ride. Getting there

The lower facility is on Sakarya Caddesi in Balçova, opposite İzmir University of Economics. The operator’s directions identify ESHOT route 480, which runs between İnciraltı and Üçkuyular İskele, and route 969, which connects Balçova with Fahrettin Altay Transfer Centre. These route descriptions are not live departure times. The upper facilities cannot be reached by private car, and Teleferik has no dedicated car park of its own. For a future visit, plan to reach the lower facility by public transport and confirm that service has resumed.
