About Slavujev potok

Slavujev potok is a small urban park in the Zvezdara municipality of Belgrade, Serbia. The mapped feature is located near Milana Rakića Street and the Lion neighbourhood, close to the Sixth Belgrade Gymnasium. The name refers to Slavujev potok, a historic stream also known as Bulbulderski potok. The stream once rose on the southwestern side of Zvezdara Hill and ran through the valley now associated with Dimitrija Tucovića and Cvijićeva streets before reaching the Danube near the present-day Port of Belgrade. Urban development channelled the stream underground, leaving the park and surrounding neighbourhoods as the most visible reminders of its name. The site is therefore best understood as a modest green urban space connected to Belgrade’s older watercourses and local toponymy, rather than as an open stream or a large natural reserve. Its position makes it a useful stop for visitors exploring Zvezdara’s residential streets, nearby educational buildings, and the historic Lion area.
