This guide is part of our Lima destination coverage. Lima

Choose the bus by your actual Lima destination

Jorge Chavez International Airport has three practical arrival choices covered here: Airport Express Lima for named Miraflores stops, AeroDirecto public buses for six corridors across Lima and Callao, and authorized taxis booked at arrivals counters. Choose by the final address, not by the cheapest headline price. A bus stop that requires another difficult journey with luggage may be poor value. (Lima Airport buses, checked 2026-09-08; ATU AeroDirecto routes, checked 2026-09-08; Lima Airport authorized taxis, checked 2026-09-08)

Airport Express Lima directly connects the terminal with four Miraflores stops: the Marriott opposite Larcomar, the Tourist Information Center at Avenida Jose Larco and San Martin, Kennedy Park, and Hotel Boulevard at Avenida Jose Pardo and Jorge Chavez. Map the accommodation before buying; a Miraflores address is not necessarily close to one of these stops. (Lima Airport buses, checked 2026-09-08)

AeroDirecto is a separate service, not a cheaper Miraflores express. ATU lists Sur, Centro, Quilca, Ventanilla, Norte, and Terminal Norte. Centro begins at Plaza San Martin; Sur begins at Galerias Brasil; the other corridors serve Callao or northern Lima. Check the current stop map and direction. Do not assume that Sur enters Miraflores or Barranco, or that Plaza San Martin serves every central district. (ATU AeroDirecto routes, checked 2026-09-08; ATU AeroDirecto daytime routes, checked 2026-09-08)

For door-to-door travel, use the authorized taxi counters in domestic or international arrivals. The airport publishes no citywide taxi fare, so request the price to the exact address before accepting.

Plan for the terminal, traffic and final connection

Do not plan around one fixed Lima road time. The official sources publish routes, stops, fares, and service patterns, but no stable terminal-to-Miraflores or terminal-to-Plaza San Martin duration. Road conditions, baggage collection, and the final connection change the result. Check a live route shortly before travel and leave a margin appropriate to the risk of missing a flight.

The current passenger terminal is approached from Avenida Morales Duarez. Older saved directions may still center on the former terminal access from Avenida Elmer Faucett. The airport's transition notice identifies Morales Duarez as the new-terminal entrance and AeroDirecto as public transport with direct access. Confirm that the route points to the current passenger terminal, not merely to an old airport landmark. (Lima Airport new-terminal access, checked 2026-09-08)

Airport Express confirms four Miraflores stops but no universal journey time. Count the ride separately from the final walk or local trip. Kennedy Park may suit one address while Larcomar or Avenida Jose Pardo suits another; the stops are not interchangeable. (Lima Airport buses, checked 2026-09-08)

For AeroDirecto, geography matters more than a guessed duration. Centro runs from Plaza San Martin through Nicolas de Pierola, Oscar R. Benavides, Elmer Faucett, Quilca, and Morales Duarez. Sur starts at Galerias Brasil and continues through La Paz, Venezuela, and Morales Duarez. Other routes serve different corridors. Include the onward bus, taxi, or walk as a separate leg. The sources establish no protected connection, so another service will not wait for a delayed airport bus. (ATU AeroDirecto daytime routes, checked 2026-09-08)

Keep each fare attached to its own service

Airport Express Lima and AeroDirecto have different fares. The airport page lists Airport Express at S/20 for one passenger and S/15 per person when two or more travel. The offer is per person, not S/15 for the group. It covers the Airport Express route to its Miraflores stops; it is not an AeroDirecto fare or city pass. Confirm the booking result before payment because prices can change after this check date. (Lima Airport buses, checked 2026-09-08)

ATU's route campaign lists AeroDirecto fares of S/3–S/5, while its earlier 30 May 2025 operating notice gives S/2–S/5. These official ranges differ at the lower bound. Confirm the current fare for the exact route and section before boarding rather than budgeting from the lowest published amount. Neither range establishes a free transfer or universal transport-card acceptance. (ATU route campaign, checked 2026-09-08; ATU operating notice, 30 May 2025, checked 2026-09-08)

Compare the whole journey. An AeroDirecto ride may require a second fare and difficult luggage transfer. Airport Express costs more but can remove that transfer near its Miraflores stops. For two passengers, the published Airport Express condition makes the listed total S/30; for three, S/45. These are calculations from the per-person price, not separate products or proof that the bus beats a taxi.

The airport publishes no general authorized-taxi fare to Miraflores, Plaza San Martin, Barranco, or another district. Do not substitute an aggregator estimate. Ask the arrivals-counter provider for a quote to the exact address and clarify whether it covers the vehicle, tolls, parking, and all passengers. A city pass is not taxi credit, and travel to an AeroDirecto stop is not included in Airport Express. (Lima Airport authorized taxis, checked 2026-09-08)

Read daytime and overnight patterns separately

ATU's 16 June 2025 notice described five original AeroDirecto routes. It stated that daytime service operates 05:00-23:00, with buses up to every 25 minutes. Overnight, Quilca, Norte, Centro, and Ventanilla operated 23:00-05:00; Sur began at 00:00. The listed overnight intervals were one hour on Sur, Norte, Centro, and Ventanilla, and 30 minutes on Quilca. These are dated service patterns, not a current timetable for every route. (ATU AeroDirecto overnight service, checked 2026-09-08)

Overnight service uses specified points rather than every daytime stop. That 2025 notice named Plaza San Martin for Centro, Galerias Brasil and the Hospital Militar area on Avenida Brasil for Sur, Quilca in Callao for Quilca, plus selected Norte and Ventanilla points. Check the current route and direction before waiting. Around-the-clock operation does not mean every stop is served all night. (ATU AeroDirecto overnight service, checked 2026-09-08; ATU AeroDirecto routes, checked 2026-09-08) Terminal Norte was added later and is part of the current six-route network. Its current route-specific hours and intervals are not established here; check ATU's current information before relying on it. (ATU Terminal Norte update, checked 2026-09-08)

The airport lists Airport Express but no complete first-and-last-departure table. Check the linked booking flow for the date and direction. Do not infer its hours from AeroDirecto; the services have different stops, prices, and operators. An Airport Express reservation also does not guarantee a late local connection from its Miraflores stop. (Lima Airport buses, checked 2026-09-08)

For departure, work backwards from the airline's required arrival time. Add approximate waiting, road variability, the terminal walk, and airport processing. Frequency is not a journey-time or flight guarantee.

Build late and Sunday trips from the last connection

For a late arrival, locate the final address and correct overnight stop first. ATU's June 2025 notice described reduced overnight stops and roughly 30- or 60-minute intervals on its original routes; those figures do not establish Terminal Norte's current pattern. Verify the actual departure and final city connection. Plaza San Martin may suit the historic center but not Miraflores; Sur's Avenida Brasil points are not Miraflores stops either. If the onward trip is uncertain, compare Airport Express availability for a named Miraflores stop or obtain an authorized-taxi quote at arrivals. (ATU AeroDirecto overnight service, checked 2026-09-08; Lima Airport buses, checked 2026-09-08; Lima Airport authorized taxis, checked 2026-09-08)

On Sunday or a public holiday, check the current operator information instead of copying a weekday pattern. The official pages checked on 8 September 2026 publish no universal Sunday timetable for every Airport Express or AeroDirecto trip and do not guarantee service through a disruption. Keep the route name, boarding point, direction, and backup together.

For an early flight, reverse the arrival logic. A bus is useful only if the first relevant stop and approximate interval leave enough time for airline check-in, bag drop, and security. Confirm that the route or driver points to the new passenger terminal on Avenida Morales Duarez, not the former Faucett-side building. (Lima Airport new-terminal access, checked 2026-09-08)

Save the airport taxi page and ATU route map before leaving reliable internet. If the planned bus no longer reaches a usable stop, use the authorized counters in domestic or international arrivals. The airport gives no universal fare, so understand the quote before travel. A scheduled bus time is not a flight guarantee, and a taxi quote is not city-transit credit. Common questions

Which Lima airport bus goes directly to Miraflores?

Airport Express Lima directly serves four named Miraflores stops: Marriott opposite Larcomar, the Tourist Information Center at Avenida Jose Larco and San Martin, Kennedy Park, and Hotel Boulevard. Map the accommodation to a stop before booking.

How much is Airport Express Lima?

The airport page lists S/20 when one passenger travels and S/15 per person when two or more passengers travel. The group condition is per person, not S/15 for the whole group. Confirm the current booking result before payment.

How much does AeroDirecto cost?

Confirm the current fare for your exact route and section before boarding. AeroDirecto is not one fixed-price airport ticket, and its fare does not establish a free onward transfer to another Lima service.

Does AeroDirecto run overnight?

ATU's 16 June 2025 notice described overnight service on Quilca, Norte, Centro and Ventanilla from 23:00 to 05:00, with Sur from 00:00. That notice predates Terminal Norte: do not apply its hours to the later route. Check the current stop, direction and departure before travelling.

Where should I take an authorized taxi at Lima airport?

The airport places authorized taxi service counters in domestic and international arrivals. Ask the counter for the price to the exact address before accepting; the official airport page does not publish a universal city fare.

Which road serves Lima airport's current terminal?

The airport operator identifies Avenida Morales Duarez as the entrance to the new passenger terminal. Check that saved directions and drivers point to the current terminal rather than the former Faucett-side passenger building.
