Palm Jumeirah is Nakheel's palm-shaped, man-made island extending five kilometres into the Arabian Gulf. The master developer records 560 hectares of land and describes a mixed residential, tourism and leisure destination rather than one attraction behind a single entrance. The ranked stop represents the island-scale setting: its trunk, private fronds and outer crescent. A visit therefore needs a chosen public destination, not only a general Palm Jumeirah pin. Palm Jumeirah has no island-wide opening or closing time and no universal weekly closure day; individual attractions, beaches, hotels, shops and restaurants set their own schedules.

What's inside

Palm Jumeirah has three main zones. The trunk holds apartments, hotels, restaurants, cafés, marinas, retail, private beaches and attractions; roads branch from the spine into gated residential fronds; a tunnel reaches the crescent and its beachfront resorts. Nakheel also identifies Al Ittihad Park, Palm Monorail, Nakheel Mall, The View at The Palm, Palm West Beach and Club Vista Mare among island destinations. Getting there

Set the route to a named Palm Jumeirah destination, not merely the island centre. Nakheel identifies the Palm Monorail as the island's dedicated transport spine and records a connection toward Dubai's wider tram and metro network, while roads serve the trunk and tunnel to the crescent. Dubai Tram station 09 is named Palm Jumeirah. From that stop, the Palm Monorail operator's route normally continues on foot to Palm Gateway station; however, monorail service is currently suspended for maintenance. Use a taxi or other road transport to the specific trunk or crescent destination during the suspension. The residential fronds are gated communities, not public through-routes.
