The PETRONAS Twin Towers are two 88-storey office towers at the eastern edge of central Kuala Lumpur, each measuring 452 metres from ground to the tip of its pinnacle, and joined near their middle by a double-decker bridge. Each tower carries five underground levels of car park and plant. They were the tallest buildings in the world when they were completed and are still the tallest twin towers, a claim the operator makes on its own pages. The architect was Cesar Pelli, working with Deejay Cerico, J. C. Guinto and Dominic Saibo.

What's inside

The tour runs in one direction and there is no doubling back. It starts at the Lower Ground, or Concourse, Level with interactive displays that take the towers from proposal to completion: the single largest continuous concrete pour in Malaysian history, roughly 13,200 cubic metres per tower over 54 hours; foundations reaching 120 metres below ground; six years of construction at a cost the operator gives as over six billion ringgit. A lift then climbs 170 metres to the Skybridge on Level 41. The span is 58. 4 metres long and weighs 750 tonnes, and it is deliberately not rigidly fixed to either tower, so that it can move slightly in high wind instead of tearing free.

How long to spend

Allow ninety minutes inside, and add the fifteen minutes the operator requires you to be at the entry point before your slot, so budget close to two hours from arriving on the concourse to walking back out of it. The operator publishes no stated tour length anywhere on its visitor pages, so ninety minutes is judgement rather than a quoted figure. It is built from how the route is actually run. Entry is by timed slot. Groups travel by lift in batches, and the Skybridge is the leg where a batch is kept together and moved on, so the time there is short and not yours to extend.

Season and crowds

Tuesday–Sunday and public holidays: 09:00–22:30, last admission 21:30. Second, fourth and fifth Monday of each month: 09:00–20:00, last admission 19:00. Closed on other Mondays unless the Monday is a public holiday or replacement public holiday. Published 2026 closures: 19 January; 16 February; 2, 16 and 20–23 March; 6 and 20 April; 4, 18 and 27 May; 15 June; 16 and 20 July; 3 and 17 August; 7 and 21 September; 5 and 19 October; 2 and 16 November. On 9 February 2026 it closed from 12:30 to 14:30. The attraction remains open during Friday prayers. The towers open Tuesday to Sunday and on public holidays from 9. 00 am to 10.

Tickets

Normal General Admission for an adult aged 13–60 costs RM127 on weekdays and RM137 on weekends. Admission uses timed tickets and availability is limited. Admission is charged, and the rate depends on nationality, age, day of week and which of four ticket types is bought. Malaysians holding MyKad or MyKid pay a separate, much lower column. Under General Admission, an adult aged 13 to 60 pays RM 127 on a weekday and RM 137 at the weekend for Normal Admission; RM 157 and RM 167 for the Evening Experience; and RM 169 for Priority Access.

Getting there

The nearest named rail stop is KLCC Station on the LRT Kelana Jaya Line. From KL Sentral, transfer to the Kelana Jaya Line; from the Ampang or Sri Petaling lines, transfer at Masjid Jamek; from the MRT Kajang Line, transfer at Pasar Seni. Rapid KL bus B103 stops at KLCC LRT Station, while B114 stops in front of Suria KLCC. The free GOKL Green and Purple lines also serve KLCC. Taxi and Grab passengers can use the Suria KLCC main entrance or the PETRONAS Twin Towers entrance. The visitor entrance is on the Lower Ground Concourse Level. No car is needed, and the rail approach is the better one.

What to watch out for

The operator describes the visitor experience as fully accessible for visitors with mobility impairments. Complimentary wheelchairs are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Wheelchair-accessible toilets are provided. Customer Relations Officers are trained to assist elderly and disabled visitors. Visitors requiring a wheelchair or additional assistance should notify the operator before their visit; the ticket portal directs wheelchair users to skybridge@petronas. com. my. The timed slot is the rule that catches people. Be at the entry point fifteen minutes before it; the management states it may refuse entry to anyone who misses their time, and no refund follows.

Photography

The operator's visitor pages set out security, food and conduct rules but publish no photography policy at all, and no rule about tripods or selfie sticks. Treat hand-held photography as expected and ask a Customer Relations Officer before setting anything up on a leg. Glass is the real constraint. Both viewing levels are fully enclosed, so every frame is shot through a pane. Turn the flash off before the lift doors open, put the lens against the glass rather than a step back from it, and wear something dark: at night the deck's own lighting reflects off the inside of the window and a pale shirt lands in the middle of the city.
