The Mid-Lake Pavilion sits at the center of the Zigzag Bridge over the lotus pond outside Yuyuan Garden. The Shanghai tourism authority describes it as the oldest preserved tea house in Shanghai, with a history of about 160 years. The venue serves tea and is known locally as the First Tea House on the Sea.
