Belgrade Airport: Bus, Minibus or Taxi

Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport has several direct city connections, but they finish in different parts of Belgrade. Line 72 runs to Zeleni Venac, a central interchange below the old-city core. Line 600 runs to Beograd Centar railway station, also called Prokop, and calls at Belgrade Bus Station on the way. The A1 minibus finishes near Slavija Square on Kralja Milutina Street. Match the terminus to the accommodation rather than assuming that every service reaches the same city centre. For most central stays, line 72 is the simplest no-fare choice when Zeleni Venac is convenient. Line 600 is usually the more useful comparison for a rail connection at Prokop or an onward coach at Belgrade Bus Station. The airport gives an approximate 30–40 minutes for each of those routes. A1 is the direct choice for Slavija and the airport lists about 30 minutes, but it is not part of the free city-bus choice: its ticket is bought from the driver in Serbian dinars cash. A fixed-price taxi is the direct option for an address that would otherwise require a second ride or a difficult walk with luggage. Obtain the price confirmation from an airport e-kiosk, then use the designated taxi queue outside Arrivals. Do not treat an offer inside the terminal as equivalent to that procedure. The official confirmation states the destination zone and the amount the driver must charge.

The airport publishes approximate journey times of 30–40 minutes for lines 72 and 600 and about 30 minutes for A1. These figures describe the scheduled vehicle leg, not a guaranteed arrival at a hotel. Add baggage collection, the walk to the airport stop, waiting time, road traffic and the connection or walk from Zeleni Venac, Prokop, Belgrade Bus Station or Slavija. Line 72 makes many stops through New Belgrade before Zeleni Venac. Line 600 serves Bežanijska Kosa, Tošin Bunar, New Belgrade stops, Belgrade Bus Station, the fair and Mostar before reaching the Prokop area. The stop list matters: a traveller staying near New Belgrade may be able to leave before the terminus, while a traveller in Stari Grad may find Zeleni Venac easier. A taxi removes the scheduled transfer but not road traffic. The airport's fixed-price system controls the fare, not the travel time. Keep the voucher until the ride is complete and check that the written destination zone matches the requested address before joining the taxi queue. For a return to the airport, plan backwards from the terminal time required by the airline; an ordinary city taxi ride does not use the arrivals e-kiosk procedure described for airport-origin trips.

No rail service is presented by the airport as a direct airport transfer option on its current public-transport page. Do not plan a train merely because line 600 serves Beograd Centar railway station: line 600 itself is a bus, and the railway station is its city terminus rather than an airport rail platform.

Lines 72, 72N and 600 are free of charge. The airport marks each of those public routes as free, and the Belgrade Public Transport Secretariat says transport is free for every person using scheduled services within the city's integrated tariff system from 1 January 2025. No city card, ticket purchase or visitor eligibility is stated for those routes. This is a city transport policy, not a city sightseeing pass and not a promise that every commercial airport service is free. A1 follows a different payment rule. Belgrade Airport says the ticket is bought from the driver and payment is only in cash in Serbian dinars. The current official airport page does not publish a fare amount, so this guide does not repeat a price from an old timetable or a third-party site. Carry dinar cash and confirm the current charge with the operator before boarding. A1's separate ticket should not be described as a rechargeable transit card purchase. Airport-origin taxi prices are fixed by destination zone when the official confirmation system is used. The current airport tariff lists RSD 2,300 for zone I, which includes Novi Beograd and specified parts of Zemun and Surčin, and RSD 3,000 for zone II, which includes Stari Grad, Vračar and specified central areas. Other destinations fall into higher listed zones; use the full official municipality and boundary table instead of guessing a zone from distance. The Public Transport Secretariat timetable for line 72, valid from 1 September 2025, lists airport departures at 00:00, then from 04:50 through 23:30. Most daytime departures follow a roughly 25-minute pattern. The same table lists identical columns for weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Line 600's timetable, valid from 1 June 2025, lists airport departures from 04:30 through 23:55. It is generally scheduled twice an hour through most of the day, with different intervals near the beginning and end of service. Its weekday, Saturday and Sunday columns are also identical on the checked table. Be careful with direction: the Beograd Centar-to-airport table is not the timetable to use after landing. A1's official city timetable is older, marked valid from 1 September 2024, and has irregular gaps outside its frequent daytime pattern. It lists airport departures at 00:15, from 06:45 through 19:45, then at 21:15 and 22:45. Because the source remains the operator's published timetable but is older than the city-bus tables, verify A1 before relying on a specific departure. Airport stop locations can change with terminal traffic management. Follow the on-site public-transport signs and confirm the vehicle number and direction before boarding; do not infer the stop from an old terminal map.

Line 72N is the dedicated night connection between Nikola Tesla Airport and Republic Square. The airport gives an approximate journey time of 30–40 minutes and marks the service free of charge. The official timetable, valid from 1 September 2025, lists departures in both directions at 00:30, 01:30 and 02:30 on weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays. The day routes leave a later-night gap that needs deliberate planning. Line 72's checked airport schedule ends at 23:30 before a 00:00 departure and then resumes at 04:50. Line 600 lists 23:55 as its last airport departure and 04:30 as its first the next morning. A1 has only the isolated departures shown in its older schedule outside daytime service. Compare the scheduled time with the likely baggage-release time; a flight's landing time is not the time a passenger reaches the bus stop. Sunday does not require a separate fare on the checked city routes, and the published 72, 72N and 600 tables show the same Sunday departures as weekdays. This does not guarantee normal operation during roadworks, public events or an incident. Check current service notices and the line timetable on the day. If a late arrival misses the useful scheduled bus, use the airport's e-kiosk to obtain a fixed-price taxi confirmation rather than accepting an unsolicited ride.
