Iasos is an archaeological site in Kıyıkışlacık Mahallesi, in the Milas district of Muğla, set on a peninsula surrounded by the sea on three sides. Its character comes from a settlement spread through an open coastal landscape rather than enclosed in museum rooms. Civic buildings, defensive works, water infrastructure and later remains appear as parts of one place. The shoreline setting helps explain the distinctive atmosphere of this ancient city and the way its remains are encountered. The bouleuterion shows more than one historical moment: its original building probably dates to the 4th century BC, while the arrangement seen today dates to the 1st century AD. Expect masonry, standing remains and open archaeological spaces rather than furnished interiors. The monuments move the visit from civic assembly to defence, water supply and burial.

Admission to Iasos is free per person. The Ministry of Culture and Tourism listing records no entry charge, so visitors do not need to add a paid ticket to the visit budget. Free entry still has a daily access boundary: ticket sales end at 16:30, while the listed visiting period continues until 17:00. Arrive before the ticket-sales deadline, especially if you want to reach the scattered remains beyond the agora and bouleuterion. The final half-hour is useful for people already admitted, but it is not a substitute for arriving before ticket sales close.

Iasos lies in Kıyıkışlacık Mahallesi, approximately 26 kilometres west of Milas. From the Milas–Bodrum road, take the turn towards Güllük and continue to Kıyıkışlacık. Güllük is also described as an access point: from there, a dolmuş boat or a car can reach the village. Use Kıyıkışlacık and Güllük as the practical route references when arranging transport, because the archaeological site is outside central Milas on a coastal peninsula. These directions describe the village approach rather than a route through Milas town streets.
