Its principal pedestrian avenue leads toward the temple entrance, giving the plateau a clear ceremonial axis. The space is also used for public gatherings and major events connected with the temple, yet it remains an outdoor place for ordinary walks, pauses and neighbourhood movement. Svetosavski trg is the open space formed between the temple, the National Library, the parish home and the planned Patriarchate building.

Allow about 30 to 45 minutes for a straightforward first look at the plateau, including the principal avenue, the fountain and drinking fountain, and an exterior view toward the Temple of Saint Sava. A slower visit of roughly 60 to 90 minutes works better if you want to sit, observe the relationship between the temple and National Library, or take photographs from different points along the open space. Add separate time if you intend to enter the Temple of Saint Sava, since the church is a distinct religious building with its own visitor arrangements and published hours. There is no admission charge for entering the outdoor Vračar plateau. It is a public open space, so you can walk along the avenue, pause around Svetosavski trg and view the surrounding buildings without buying a plateau ticket. The Temple of Saint Sava is a separate religious building and should be treated separately when planning an interior visit. Do not confuse the absence of an outdoor plateau admission fee with any arrangements that may apply inside the temple or during a specially organised programme.

A practical public-transport approach is GSP tram line 2 to the Trg Slavija / Nemanjina stop, followed by a walk toward Vračar plateau and the Temple of Saint Sava. From the stop, use the temple as the visual destination and continue uphill through the surrounding Vračar streets. The plateau is associated with Nebojšina, Jovana Skerlića, Bore Stankovića and Katanićeva streets.
