Zvezdara Forest is a protected urban woodland on the wooded part of Veliki Vračar, in eastern Belgrade’s Zvezdara municipality. Its protected area covers 80 hectares, 57 ares and 87 square metres, and its legal designation is natural monument. JKP Zelenilo-Beograd manages the protected natural area. This is a substantial piece of living woodland within the city, suited to a nature walk and observation of an urban forest rather than a conventional attraction organised around galleries, rides or a single visitor building. Its identity comes from the relationship between forest habitat, mapped paths and Belgrade’s surrounding neighbourhoods. Zvezdara Forest is in eastern Belgrade, within Zvezdara municipality, and the wooded area is bounded in part by Volgina and Mite Ružića streets. GSP bus 65 terminates at Zvezdara; from the terminus, continue on foot towards the forest and Volgina Street. This makes the bus terminus a useful approach point, but the final section is a walk into woodland rather than arrival at one clearly defined gate. Once you reach the forest area, use the information boards and their trail maps to orient yourself before choosing a route.
