Çukuriçi Höyük is a prehistoric settlement mound in Selçuk, İzmir, southeast of ancient Ephesus and near the Aegean coast. Its importance lies in the archaeological sequence beneath and around the mound, not in standing monuments designed for modern visitors. Excavated layers record a community that lived, built, made tools and participated in wider networks across prehistoric western Anatolia. The site is also one component of the Ephesus World Heritage property.
