Tree of Science, called Bilim Ağacı in Turkish, is an outdoor monument at the A1 entrance of Middle East Technical University in Ankara. The monument was created in 1966 after a design competition, with sculptor Tamer Başoğlu and architect Ersen Gürsel credited with its design. Its identity depends on its setting: the sculpture marks the threshold of METU’s main campus beside Eskişehir Highway. This is a compact work of public art, not a museum or gallery.
