The place is important as a settlement landscape rather than as a standing monument, restored building or conventional museum. Its value lies in the mound itself, the evidence of repeated occupation beneath and around it, and its position on the Akhisar plain. Modern railway and motorway infrastructure now forms part of the surrounding view, creating a striking contrast between ancient settlement history and present-day transport routes. It lies just south of the Akhisar connection of the İzmir–İstanbul motorway and west of the railway. These landmarks are useful for orientation, but they also make the approach safety-sensitive. Use lawful access roads and stop only where the landscape can be viewed safely. Keep away from railway tracks, motorway traffic and slip roads.
