Tumulus MM is a monumental Phrygian burial mound at ancient Gordion near Yassıhöyük in Ankara Province. Also known as the Midas Mound, it rises about 53 metres above the surrounding plain and contains a wooden burial chamber dated to approximately 740 BC. The mound is associated with the royal world of Phrygia and the tradition surrounding King Midas, but its importance is also architectural: the vast earthwork preserves a deliberately constructed funerary landscape. From Ankara, travel toward Polatlı by road or train, then continue approximately 18 kilometres from Polatlı to Yassıhöyük on a village road. Gordion Museum and Tumulus MM are on opposite sides of the main road at the eastern end of the village. Parking is available beside Gordion Café behind the museum, providing a practical base for a combined stop.
