Angkor Thom 소개

Constructed in the late twelfth and early thirteenth centuries under King Jayavarman VII, it represents one of Southeast Asia's most significant archaeological sites. The site covers approximately nine square kilometres and is enclosed by laterite walls and a moat. Its central temple, the Bayon, features distinctive stone faces. The Terrace of the Elephants served as a royal viewing platform, while the nearby Terrace of the Leper King features intricate carved reliefs. Five monumental gates pierce the city walls, each topped with four faces. The Preah Palilay and Preah Pithu temple groups lie within the enclosure.
