Hoi Bun Road Park is a 9,300-square-metre public open space on Hoi Bun Road in Kwun Tong. The original park was built in 1990 mainly for people working in the surrounding area. As Kowloon East changed into another core business district, the Hong Kong government renovated the park to meet changing public needs and reopened it in August 2021. The improved plan adds landscaped areas, multi-purpose lawns, an elderly fitness corner, sitting-out spaces, pavilions and shelters. It also strengthens pedestrian connectivity towards Kwun Tong Promenade and contributes more green space to the renewed waterfront. The result is both a neighbourhood place to sit and exercise and a link through a dense working district, rather than a formal botanical garden or a destination built around one monument.
