Acıgöl-Nevşehir is a volcanic maar in Nevşehir Province, set beside the Nevşehir–Aksaray road and about 3 km east of Acıgöl district centre. Unlike a conventional lake destination, its basin is now dry, giving the site a distinctly geological character. The maar measures roughly 700 by 500 metres, so its scale is best understood as a broad depression across the open plateau. Its story also connects landscape change with local water management: the spring that fed the lake was taken for Acıgöl’s drinking-water supply until 1966. That combination of volcanic form, archaeological context and altered hydrology makes Acıgöl-Nevşehir a brief but unusual stop in the district. It is about 3 km east of Acıgöl district, immediately beside the Nevşehir–Aksaray highway. Its lake bed is dry. Short-lived water accumulation may appear after exceptionally wet periods, but it should be understood as a dry maar.

Acıgöl-Nevşehir lies about 3 km east of Acıgöl, immediately beside the Nevşehir–Aksaray highway. From Acıgöl, the route follows Aksaray Caddesi toward the highway.
